Advantages
A pleasant town with enough shops for all your needs at normal prices. Easy to get to Les Arcs on the funicular. I preferred staying in Bourg St Maurice than in the town. The Les Arcs ski area is extensive but a lot of the lifts were closed when we were there due to winds and avalanche risk.
Inconveniences
I don't personally do much après-ski but my daughters thought there was very little in Bourg St Maurice itself.
